United Response of Fort Wayne UNITED Fellowships with CAYACC and Other Organizations to Support Local Families of Homicide Victims A host of families in the city of Fort Wayne who have suffered the loss of a family member due to homicide will receive support in the amount of $2500 from United Response of Fort Wayne UNITED. In some instances, particularly if the victim is under ten years old, United Response will cover any burial costs incurred by the family.
The goal of this partnership is to raise the awareness within our community by highlighting the journeys of families that have been affected by homicidal violence. Through this effort, citizens of our community will benefit from the unified approach of local African American pastors in Fort Wayne that offer a tremendous amount of support in those times.
In partnership with Hicks Monuments and More, headstone assistance will be provided to families who need financial support. The Meals for Healing Program of Fort Wayne UNITED will also partner with local churches (listed below) to deliver hot meals to the homes of families suffering from a recent loss due to homicide, for a full week. Meals for Healing operates from the office of the Victims Assistance Division of the City of Fort Wayne.
